Weekly Sports Update

Please remember that all students attending the home games are required to exit the building by 3pm per our JMS code of conduct and can renter at the gym doors at 350pm. Students are also expected to leave the building 10 min after the conclusion of the games. Please have the necessary arrangements for pickup. Students are not allowed reentry to school events. If a student leaves the building during a game/event, they are not allowed to come back in per our district safety protocol. Please remember that concessions are not a guarantee at every game and an exception to leave for snacks will not be granted, so come prepared.

We have been asked to remind spectators of some of the MHSAA rules set in place for indoor events. These relate to noise makers and spectator behaviors and are as follows from the MHSAA handbook.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA)
prohibits the use of noisemakers at all levels of its tournaments, including whistles, cowbells, air horns, and thundersticks. This ban also applies to jugs with pennies, stones, and marbles, as well as banners on sticks, confetti, balloons, and laser pointers.
Inappropriate language: Profanity, taunting, intimidation, or offensive language is not permitted. (Toward players, officials, fans, or workers)
Disruptive behavior: Athletes and spectators should not scream, shout, or chant to disrupt others.
We love the support we receive for our student athletes and always encourage our players to compete and give the upmost effort and for our fans to enjoy the experience, however, there are rules set in place for players and spectators that are expected to be followed.

Girls Basketball:

JMS Girls basketball will begin the week of 1/13. Specific times and dates will be given as soon as possible. All students planning to tryout must have an approved physical on the district FamilyID site. Directions for this can be found on our website.

Thank you! Have a great week.
